About Me
This is not where I expected to be at this point in my life. So how did I get here? I’ve enjoyed quilting on my little Janome sewing machine since 2003. I was able to set it up to do free motion quilting and found that creating patterns with thread is my favourite part of the whole quilting process. I dreamed of owning a longarm so I wouldn’t have to struggle to fit large quilts in the tiny harp space of my Janome, but that was just a pipe dream as there was no way I’d be able to fit a longarm into my house or convince my husband that spending that much money on a hobby was reasonable.
Then, last year, my husband passed away, leaving me with two children to raise by myself. I realised that longarm quilting would provide me with the ability to work from home, on my own schedule, so that I could be present for my kids and support them. I took the leap of faith and purchased Gambit, my Gammill Statler Stitcher. It’s given me something to focus on and helped me to cope and move onward with my life.
