What size should my backing be?
Your backing will need to be four inches bigger than your quilt top on all four sides. Remember: Four-for-four! For example, if you’re sending me a 60” x 80” quilt top your backing should be at least 68” x 88”. It’s OK if it’s bigger, but smaller makes it somewhere between difficult and impossible for me to load your quilt onto my longarm. There will be an additional charge if I have to add fabric to your backing to be able to load it. If you have questions about this, please feel free to contact me.
Keep it neat, please!
Please take some time to press your top and backing before you ship them to me so that they are ready to be loaded on the longarm as soon as they are unpacked. Clipping any stray threads or fraying fabric tails will help to prevent dark threads from showing through your quilt top and greatly improve the look of your finished quilt.
Quilting Choice
There are a lot of decisions to be made when you’re working on a quilt, and sometimes it can get overwhelming. If you have a pattern in mind, let me know. If you’re not sure and would like me to make the quilting decisions for you, that’s fine also. I’ll check with you before I begin the quilting process to make sure you’re happy with what I’ve chosen for your artwork.
